Why are there so many different types?

We offer a complete range of cable protectors from pedestrian covers to heavy duty vehicle hose ramps so that we are ready to assist with any application. We also provide kerb ramps with channels underneath so cables can run below them. 

What is the difference between a cable cover & a cable protector?

A cable cover is designed to drop over wires whereas cable protectors encase cables completely. Cable covers offer a swift installation/removal. Cable protectors offer a more secure protection.

Do you have cable protectors suitable for vehicles to cross?

Yes, we have options with capacities ranging from 2000kg to 15,000kg (per section) but please be aware as our 2-channel option is 105mm high it is only suitable for HGV’s & other vehicles with plenty of ground clearance.

How can I check the channel size?

All channel dimensions are listed in our product specification pages, if you are at all unsure or cannot find a suitable option please get in touch.

What are they made of?

The majority of our range is rubber although there are some polyurethane options. This means our products are heavy duty and hard wearing.

Can they be fixed in place?

We do not recommend fixing our products as they are designed to be portable. Some customers have used adhesive tapes or fixings but the product does not come supplied with fixing holes or fixings.

Can cable protectors be used in a warehouse?

Yes however please ensure you select one of our cable protectors that are suitable to be used with forklift/trollies, for example within the Adam Hall range there are cable protectors which are suitable for items with low ground clearance.

Can wheelchairs go over cable protectors/cable covers? 

We have a range of cable protectors which are suitable for wheelchairs, these can be viewed here. 

Can cable protectors be connected together? 

Yes, our heavy duty cable protectors and cable covers are interlocking so you can create your required length. Our rubber cable protectors are available in lengths up to 9m, as they are rubber you can cut these to your required size when needed.

Delivery cut-off times & Costs

Our cut off times for same-day dispatch* is 2 pm Monday-Friday (Excluding Bank Holidays)

• Under 30kg - 10€
• 30.1kg – 100kg - 50€
• Over 100kg - 115€

Delivery charges are calculated for you based on the weight of your order at the checkout

We offer 4-10 business day delivery delivery for 'in-stock' items throughout Ireland. Please note delivery timelines may vary as we use third-party couriers to deliver our products. All products are shipped under DAP Incoterms. This means we do not charge VAT but Irish import VAT of 23% (on all products) and Import duty and any customs charges (on some products ) and customs charges will be due. These fees will need to be paid to the courier before or after you receive the goods. Where payment is required prior to delivery, the sooner any customs/VAT charges are paid to the courier/customs the quicker you will receive your goods. Please look out for emails or calls from the courier regarding these fees otherwise your goods may be returned to us.

Order information

If you are ordering on behalf of a company, please provide your VAT IE and EORI number to us as soon as possible to prevent delays in dispatching your order, the couriers require us to provide this prior to the dispatch of goods. If items are being sent on a pallet, we will also require you to complete a POA prior to dispatch. 

If you have purchased a loading ramp, prior to use please make sure to check the maximum load height as stated on the invoice, read the safety instructions on the side of the ramp closely, and follow the instructions supplied with the product.  Failure to comply with product instructions will invalidate your warranty and could cause an accident, injury or death so please take this seriously.

Our shipping terms for all customers are INCO Terms DAP unless explicitly specified.

Our cut off times for same-day dispatch* is from Monday-Friday 2pm. If your order is placed after this time it will be dispatched the next working day.

Products are shipped from our UK Warehouse to Ireland on DDP Incoterms. The price displayed is the total price, with the shipping fee calculated at the checkout. There is no additional import, duty or customs charges.

What is DDP Incoterms?

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is an international shipping term where the seller (The Ramp People) takes full responsibility for delivering the goods to the buyer's location, including all shipping costs, import duties, and taxes. This means the buyer receives the goods fully cleared through customs without any additional charges upon delivery.

Our delivery charges are calculated for you at the checkout; however, you can also see them in the handy listed below:

• Under 25kg - €15
• 25.1kg – 100kg - €65
• Over 100kg - €125

We've made things easier for you...Irish VAT of 23% is now charged by us and paid at the point of purchase. We understand that in some instances, customers will need to return an item due to a change in circumstances, incorrect sizing or simply changing their mind. Here at The Ramp People we offer a 60 day money back guarantee on all purchases; however, there will be circumstances where a return is not possible. So as to remain transparent with our customers, we have detailed our returns policy below to answer any queries you may have about the process.

Here are the most common circumstances for returns and how we can help;

Change of mind, wrong size or unsuitable item

Sometimes an item is not what you imagined, it doesn’t fit or you just don’t need it any more. In these circumstances, we are happy to offer an exchange or a full refund, no quibble of course, if the item is returned in its original condition, including original packaging, and within 60 days from date of receipt. Please note, items which are advertised as 'built to order', or customised items are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Please take care when returning an order to us as all customers are in charge of the item’s return and covering the cost. We recommend you use a tracked, insured returns method so as to ensure a secure transit.

For an exchanged item, please make a note on the returns form that you wish to exchange the product or call us on +353 1 695 0520. We can deliver new items within our standard delivery policy. Unwanted items should be sent back to our address marked 'Returns Department'.

Item incorrect or damaged on arrival

Upon delivery, please do not sign for the goods unless you are happy with the condition of the product.

We pride ourselves on our excellent customer care and service delivery, however, if an unfortunate incident occurs where you believe you have been sent the wrong item please call us immediately on #353 1 695 0520.

For damaged items, please supply proof of damage with a photo and email it across to our customer support team at hello@theramppeople.co.uk. For any incorrect deliveries, we will always check the part numbers on your order due to using different names for marketing and warehouse storage – we can then arrange for the correct item to be delivered whilst the unwanted item is collected and brought back to us.

A refund or replacement can only be processed once we have received all unwanted items and confirmed any damage.

Faulty items

In the unlikely event of an item becoming faulty, please view our guarantee policies in our terms and conditions.

If your item is within our warranty, we will be able to collect it to either repair or replace, however this can only be done once we have confirmed the fault. If you urgently need the item returned, we advise placing a new order and await the refund for the faulty item.

Items that cannot be cancelled or returned

Under Consumer Contract Regulations, customers have the right to cancel any order for any item bought through The Ramp People on this website including a full refund. Unfortunately, these regulations do not apply to the following circumstances;

• Items that are collected from our premises.
• Items with a product description stating: "Built to order or customised."
• Products that are personalised or made to a customer specification.
• Sealed goods that come with health protection or hygiene regulations that have been un-sealed after delivery.
• Returning any products that present a hygiene risk after being used by the recipient.

What happens next?

Customers are responsible for any returned goods until they reach our warehouse as stated in this returns policy. None of these terms or conditions affect your statutory legal rights.

Once the item is returned back to our warehouse, please allow 1-2 working days for the items to be checked. Once the items have been checked and the condition is as agreed, a credit note will be emailed across to you. Please note, once the credit note has been provided refunds take up to 7 days.
