Most of our wheelchair ramps are approximately 720mm wide, however we offer a range of wider and narrower solutions. If you’re dealing with limited space, we’ve created a dedicated guide to our narrower wheelchair ramps, designed specifically to help you access tight doorways and small steps with ease.
Before selecting a wheelchair ramp for a narrow doorway, it’s important to assess a few key factors:

Measure the height you need to overcome—specifically, the vertical distance from the ground to the threshold. All of our products note the maximum 'load height' which the ramp is recommended for.

For uPVC or similar doorways, check if there is also an internal height (often a view inches heigh) as this can affect ramp choice.

Determine the type of mobility aid you’ll be using. Some ramps are suitable only for manual wheelchairs, while others can accommodate electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

Measure the total width of your wheelchair, rollator or scooter to ensure it fits both on the internal ramp width and through the doorway.
Rubber Threshold Ramps for Heights up to 200mm
At The Ramp People, we offer a wide range of rubber ramps, available in heights from 4mm to 200mm—ideal for steps and door thresholds.
Thanks to their rubber construction, these ramps can easily be cut to size with a knife or saw, allowing you to adjust the width to suit your doorway perfectly.
Designed with a smooth gradient, our rubber ramps are suitable for all types of mobility aids, including manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, and mobility scooters. They are also weather-resistant and can be safely left outside for long-term use.
Please note the higher heights are quite heavy so generally left in place.

Telescopic Wheelchair Ramps
Our range of lightweight telescopic wheelchair ramps is perfect for navigating narrow doorways. Each ramp is approximately 190mm wide (depending on the model), making them a great solution when space is limited.
Easy to use—simply rest the ramps on the step, align your wheelchair wheels, and you're ready to go.
We offer telescopic ramps in lengths from 4ft to 12ft, allowing you to safely overcome steps, doorways, and thresholds up to 600mm in height.
Thanks to their compact and extendable design, these ramps are easy to store and transport—perfect for keeping in the car boot and taking out and bout with you.
We do also offer adjustable telescopic wheelchair ramps which can be used at various lengths making them useful if you wish to use the access ramps in various areas.
Please note: Due to the ramp edges, these models are generally recommended for use with manual wheelchairs only.
RollAble Wheelchair Ramp, 685mm Wide
The 685mm wide RollAble ramp (useable width 640mm) is perfect for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walkers. This clever portable wheelchair ramp can be used as a straight ramp to overcome steps or as a bridge ramp to go up and over doorways and thresholds. The access ramp is available in any length from 3ft.
Due to the modular design the wheelchair ramp can be extended, or reduced in length when required.
Leave the ramp in place or roll the ramp up for storage and transportation.
Up & Over Folding Channel Ramps
Provided as a pair, these telescopic and folding wheelchair ramps can be used as a straight ramp to overcome steps and doorways or as a bridge ramp to go up and over doorways and thresholds.
Each ramp is only 210mm wide making them perfect for providing wheelchair access through narrow doorways.
Please note due to the edges on the ramp they are only recommended for manual wheelchairs.
