In the past, we have often had feedback from customers who ran into trouble handling large and heavy aluminium ramps. Especially older or disabled people who have to set these ramps up on their own may not be able to do so with heavy aluminium or rubber products. The question for an ultra-light solution was asked frequently.

Today, we at The Ramp People are happy to be able to answer this question with a new addition to our range of folding premium wheelchair ramps:

The new, ultra-light wheelchair ramps!

These ultra-light wheelchair ramps are available in lengths between 750mm and 2000mm. With a usable width of 750mm and a capacity of 250kg, they are suitable for most common manual and electric wheelchairs as well as scooters.

Due to the material used, these ramps are incredibly light, starting at just 2.6kg. This makes our carbon fibre ramp the lightest, portable wheelchair ramp on the market.

Our ultra-light wheelchair ramps come with a raised edge (5cm), to prevent accidental wheeling off and can be folded down the length for easier storage and transportation. The available length of 2000mm is suitable for step or kerb heights of up to 330mm, or a gradient of 1:6 and we recommend that you do not exceed a gradient of 1:6 (15% incline). For electric wheelchairs, scooters and wheelchair users who are looking to use the ramp on their own, the incline should be kept as shallow as possible.

No fixings or extensive installation of the ramps is required. The standard rest-on connection is compatible with most steps or threshold, so the ramp can simply be opened and set up before use.
